Drinking Glass Blues

Some woman done hijacked your life

Why do you blame me for her strife?

You forget I was your warrior Queen

Supporting you through times so lean

Encouraging you to be your best

Your staunchest ally against the rest

Whenever you gave voice to need

I sprung to action by word and deed

Now you claim I've lost my mind

Afraid lest anyone should find

The truth you hide behind the mask

You gave up riches

To keep your bitches

And a broken drinking glass

I understand my King divine

That you are having a terrible time

Seeking someone of authority

To hear you tale and then agree

In your heart you realize

It wasn't me that fed you lies

I nurtured you in truth with love

Empowered by the One above

Now the ashes of greedy lust

Will turn your iron heart to rust

You did trip

Busted your lip

On a broken drinking glass

For years to come you will learn to mourn

Dreams that are as yet unborn

Dreams your adviser cursed and damned

Will be fathered by another man

When she handed you that steely knife

To amputate you tree of wife

She neutered you and your generations

All you father now is frustration

Blood soaked shame

Stains your fame

And that broken drinking glass

Truth prevails, truth be told

The facts you try to shape and mold

"Look at what she done to me"

Such self indulgent alchemy

Steeped in anger set to boil

What, may I ask is your goal

You cannot hide from what you are

You can try but you won't get far

Forever lost

But for the cost

Of a broken drinking glass
